It’s like flying a kite, turned real big time!

And la – la – la – la! This is a surprise to me (I thought Actor/Actress will top the list, this is close anyway). Imagine fame, glory and money! Who doesn’t like those? There is really no need to explain this thing. Doing so will be like singing an off-tuned a capella. This tops the list of our monster jobs with highest rating, and that roars melodically.

Occupational therapists, physical therapists and other kinds of clinical therapists are among the many monster jobs that many regard highly. They are the foundation of the medical health care system, and thus deserve good compensation. They are actually considered to be some of the highest paying jobs today. Won’t it be satisfying to help and earn at the same time?

Some people just love to teach. It is a gift I think. Being a college instructor is one good job that is satisfying because you continually share knowledge and ideas. In turn, you also learn. And there is continual growth of one’s character. This monster job surely keeps the intelligent and patient geeks in their prime!

Dangerous Cracks in High Paying Job Market

Alarming news hit me while browsing the internet business sites! In a span of five years, employers in United States never cut their labor force – not until recently.

Recession Cuts High Paying Jobs

I read this sad news on yahoo about the huge cut on high paying jobs and regular paying jobs in the United States.

I thought that if that is happening on a superpower and one of the richest countries in the world, what more on a third world country like where I live? Existence of high paying jobs, or of any jobs seem to be futile!

US marketers attribute this to the on going recession, and they have no idea on how long and how deep this economic injury will be. Now I can imagine how many high paying jobs will be gone!

Genpact, Philippines Manager Has One of The Highest Paying Jobs

I don’t know about how much Genpact supervisors and managers are getting in India, but in the Philippines they are the most highly paid in the industry. My snitch in Genpact Human Resources rang me with the details of the salary package of their managers and I must say I was a bit surprised with how much they are getting paid to work and stay in Genpact! Theirs is simply the highest paying jobs for their category in the country.

My source tells me Genpact has made it a point to stay above the HSBC call center salary benchmark to make sure they beat them out in getting good talent. For a mere entry level job in operations, Genpact offers a qualified candidate with a remuneration package totaling to 22,250 pesos gross monthly inclusive of transportation and food allowances. If that is not the highest paying job for a call center, then bite me.

It becomes more desirable for employees in the higher ranks. The benchmark for Genpact Assistant Managers handling a team of agents can receive a salary in the range of 40,000 to 55,000 pesos monthly – the highest paying jobs according to sources. This is much better compared to the 35,000 to 40,000 pesos that their HSBC counterparts receive. Genpact Customer Service Managers get the best compensation in the industry with a salary package of over 100,000 pesos guaranteed. For those too lazy to do some math, Indian Rupees and Philippine Pesos are about the same in value in the currency market. With this said, I wonder how much are Genpact’s managers getting paid in India? It would be a shock if there’s a big difference. Standards of living might play a little part in small differences but I was informed that salaries theoretical should be the same in different Genpact sites.

The sneaky thing about Genpact is they always try to stay above HSBC’s salary benchmark. HSBC, by the way, is practically Genpact’s next door neighbor in location. I wonder if Genpact does the same in India.

I’ve added a new job category, home jobs, and so here is a quick through about that job group.

Home jobs are simply jobs or work that you do right in the comfort of your home. With this, you are clearly employed by a boss or an employer. The only difference is that instead of you traveling every day, going into office from 9am to 6pm, you toil and work right in your own roof!

How’s that sound to you? Good, right?!

This edge of the human resource industry is of course made possible thru the internet. Because of the fast flow of communications, job orders or instructions can easily be transmitted via electronic mail or even an instant message or IM thru countless services available in the free market.

Topping the list on the kinds of home based jobs are writing, editing, and translation. As blogging and web publishing seem to rule online marketing, fast, and enormous numbers of professionals who can write are being hired – included in these are even those who can or only want to work at home.

Payments?

Payments are usually made available thru online payments systems, paypal, stormcash to name a few. Still, professionalism should be exercised, whether you employed thru an office or thru a virtual industry. One has to exert all of his efforts, exhaust whatever means to come up with the best product that you were asked to – blogs or articles in this case.

Jobs, Business and Money in 2008

2007 was the year of the call centers and IT-based industries! And with Philippine peso winning over the dollar, what could the jobs and businesses that will surely give us some bucks?!

According to JobsDB.com, an internet based interactive recruitment network, IT or information technology is still the hottest job category this coming year!

Lloyd Sy, Sales Supervisor of JobsDB said that a lot of companies need computer programmers, software specialist, computer analysts, autcad programs, and graphic artists.

“And being a graduate of an IT-based course does not guarantee of one being hired [Hindi porke graduate ka ng IT na kurso it means ikaw na ang hinahanap ng employer],” says Sy. She added that companies are now looking for very specific person for a specific work. Needless to say, multi-tasking seems to be a passé nowadays.

Sy also stressed that should an applicant see a job opportunity, he or she should readily apply for it. Resume, whether the conventional hardcopy or in soft or video form should tell the best in you according to her.

Peso’s apparent power isn’t good to everyone according to author and business expert Francisco Colayco.

“Dollar based economy and industry definitely do not want the peso to be strong, these includes exporting groups, and all other business that caters to the foreign market [Hindi maganda para sa dollar based industry, mga exporting groups, mga negosyo na umaasa sa dayuhan whether outsourcing or direct clients ang paglakas ng piso],” Colayco said.

And sadly, call centers will have a direct hit.

According to Colayco, call centers must rethink their budget, cut down expenses.

Colayco stressed that instead of following the fad, one should be creative and innovative in thinking of new ways to earn.

He focused the three Fs and three Ts as the source of inspiration for any business. These are food, fun (as in entertainment), fashion and telecommunications, tourism and transportation.
