Job Responsibilities:
- The Junior Web Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and crafting the aesthetic and logical structure of a website, taking into consideration accessibility, usability, use of appropriate technologies, and conformance to standards.
- The duties and responsibilities of a Junior Web Designer are as follows:
- Conceptualizes and develops web sites according to specification
- Develops appropriate project plans in support of development schedules.
- Creates enhancements and modifications to web sites; organizes and maintains existing sites.
- Assesses new standards, technologies and trends, and formulates strategies and plans for future enhancement of web sites.
- Ensures that web sites are accessible from a variety of different environments and platforms.
- Produces a consistent visual image on the web sites including maintenance of templates and image archives.
- Ensures that web pages are delivered to the viewer at sufficiently high speed and quality.
- Meets or completes project milestones on or before specified deadlines.
- Ensure all content conforms to intellectual property rights laws.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Fine Arts, New Media, Web Design, Advertising and other related courses.
- Male/Female; with relevant experience however new graduates may apply provided they can show portfolio and willing to undergo skills testing if required
- Experience in hands-on digital imaging and crafting web pages via code is required
- Candidate should be able to present a comprehensive body of work, preferably online, and demonstrate on the spot graphic design and web design skills
- Specific Skills Sets Required:
- All: HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM (Ajax)
- Adobe Photoshop, Flash (with ActionScript) and Dreamweaver skills required
- At least one scripting platform: PHP and ASP.NET (preferred), ASP 3.0, JSP, Macromedia Flash
- At least one Image (Bitmap) Editor: Photoshop (preferable), ImageReady, or Gimp
- At least one Drawing (Vector) Program: Fireworks (preferred), Illustrator or Freehand
- At least one WYSIWYG Web Design Application: Dreamweaver or Golive
- Design, Composition and Color Theory
- Preferred Skill sets to have:
- Typography
- Freehand Sketching
- 3D Modeling
- Photography
- RSS, RDF, XML, XSLT
- Project Management
- Knowledge and experience in various CMS, Portal and Blog systems
- Required language(s): English, Filipino
