High Paying Jobs Series: Graphic Artist for National Pen

NATIONAL PEN is a leading international manufacturer and an award-winning distributor of unique writing instruments and promotional products. We maintain our Corporate Headquarters in San Diego, California with operations in Tennessee, Mexico, Canada and Ireland. Our company uses a variety of distribution channels worldwide.

Having established its footprint in the Philippines, we are seeking competent individuals to join our new graphics team in Manila. The Manila graphics team will work in conjunction with existing groups of artists and sales reps located in Tennessee and California to support our customers around the world.

Our global clients include: Walt Disney, NBA, Nike, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, AT&T, FedEx, McDonald’s, Motorola, HP, Major League Baseball, Kraft, Ford, Yamaha, Mitsubishi Motors, 3M, Lipton, Citibank, Gatorade, Subway, Sprint, Exxon, USPS, and Texaco. We also have license agreements with Parker, Papermate, Waterman and Bic.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create artwork from job requirements/ scratch and do any required composition to make it production ready
• Convert/Redraw raster images to clean vector format (camera ready art)
• Communicate with Supervisor regarding challenges, procedures, process improvement ideas; Accomplish file maintenance including archiving and backing up files per corporate standards
• Ability to process logos and custom imprints accurately and efficiently
• Self-starter requiring minimal supervision

Job Requirements:

• 2-3 years typesetting, logo preparation preferred
• Raster to vector graphic conversion using Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw
• Minimum 2-year Graphics Certification, Degree or comparable work experience
• Excellent English language work skills; both oral and written
• Proficient in Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
• Required language(s): English.
